介绍:
Hey guys, I am Debbie. Thank you for tuning in. for the last episode; I shared three Taylor swift songs, which were “Mine”, “ Ours” and “Fifteen”. For this episode, I am going to share some stories behind the song “ Fifteen”. Besides, since the Mother’s Day was on last Sunday. Here I want to share a song Taylor wrote to show how grateful and lucky she feels to have her mom on her side all the time. "Fifteen" was inspired by Swift's freshman year of high school, where she first encountered heartbreak, along with her best friend Abigail Anderson. After writing it, Swift asked Anderson for authorization to record the song (due to personal references in the song); Anderson affirmed and it was ultimately included on Fearless. "Fifteen" is a ballad, which has Taylor reminiscing on events that occurred to her and her best friend at the age of 15 and cautioning teenagers to not fall in love easily. Taylor began writing "Fifteen" with the lyric "And Abigail gave everything she had to a boy/ Who changed his mind/ We both cried", which eventually became the song's hightlight, and continued writing everything else in a backwards manner. Taylor said "I just decided I really wanted to tell that story about our first year of high school because I felt in my freshman year, I grew up more than any year in my life so far" .The events it focused on were how both Taylor and Anderson fell in love for the first time, but both suffered of heartbreaks. Aside from reminiscing on the events she and Anderson experienced, Swift wrote cautionary lyrics, intended to target teenage girls entering or already in their freshman year of high school. She described it as incorporating things she wished someone would have told her in a song when she was younger. "The thing about high school, you don't know anything. You don't know anything, but you think you know everything", Swift said. As Taylor wrote in her lyrics: In your life you'll do things greater than Dating the boy on the football team But I didn't know it at fifteen When all you wanted was to be wanted Wish you could go back And tell yourself what you know now And when you're fifteen, don’t forget to look Before you fall I've found that time can heal most anything And you just might find who you're supposed to be I didn't know who I was supposed to be At fifteen Take a deep breath girl Take a deep breath as you walk through the doors After the completion of composing "Fifteen", Taylor became very nervous to show Anderson the song, for she did not know how her friend would respond. "It was a really personal song, especially from her angle of it." However, when Taylor performed the song for Anderson and asked whether she was comfortable with the song, Anderson confirmed: "She said, 'Does it bother you that your name is in a song that's so personal?' And it really doesn't just because of the way Taylor and I feel about it. If one girl can kind of learn from it or connect to a song like that, it's totally worth it." With Anderson's consent, Swift recorded this highly personal track caused Taylor to cry. Taylor attributed the event to the fact that she is most likely to cry over when her loved ones undergo pain, as she witnesses it, rather than her own experiences. She went to say "Fifteen" usually gets her every time. The music video of this song conveys a heartbreak story. The video begins with Taylor, barefoot and clad in a white sundress, approaching a tall, arched doorway, which materializes in the middle of a barren landscape. I personally like the lyrics In your life you'll do things greater than Dating the boy on the football team I am totally on board with it. I think girls shouldn’t always put romance as their priorities. And there are so many other things greater than just dating guys. And as for Taylor, she is a living proof of that. She realized some bigger dreams of hers and she had accomplished so much in her life other than being stuck in relationships. And Taylor also wrote When all you wanted was to be wanted Wish you could go back And tell yourself what you know now I am pretty sure that everyone has gone through that phase in their lives feeling to be wanted. But I did and I am still feeling like this sometimes no matter what happens and no matter how much I have accomplished. But as I grow up, I feel less and less insecure and know I know that when all you wanted is to be wanted, you will never be wanted. But focus on what you want, you will always be wanted. The second song is called “ Best Day” which Taylor wrote for her mom. Taylor sang this song at one of her concerts on Mother’s Day as a surprise gift for her mom. I have watched the video on YouTube a long time ago and I have watched it over and over again and still can’t help being emotional about this song. You can search this video but here’s the warning: Your face may start to hurt from smiling, or crying. Before singing this song, Taylor had a speech. She said: “I don’t know if you brought your mother tonight or if she’s at home, but you should maybe text her after the show and let her know that you love her so much and please tell her that I love her too because she’s the reason you’re around and that you came to the show tonight. I feel incredibly lucky this Mother’s Day because not only do I have an excellent mom, but she’s actually here tonight, and not only is my mom here, my dad’s here and my brother Austin is here as well. So this is not only from me to my mom, it’s also from Austin and from my dad to my mom and your mom too. This is called The Best Day.” Taylor had a rough time in schools because she was determined to be a singer at an early age, which made her look so different from other kids at school. Luckily, Taylor and her mom have an incredible bond. And I think it is awesome that Taylor has someone around her at all times that she can confide in and get advice from or just talk to and hang out and be herself with, and she never has to question that. The last verse of this song is insanely touching which makes me cry every single time when I hear this song. She sings, Now I know why all the trees change in the fall. I know you were on my side even when I was wrong. And I love you for giving me your eyes staying back and watching me shine. And I didn’t know if you knew, so I’m taking this chance to say that I had the best day with you today. This just reminds me of my mom. She does the same for me just like what taylor’s mom does for her. And she is always there for me even when I am wrong. And I know that she is the only one person in this whole wide world who would never ever give up on me no matter how many times she is disappointed at me. I don’t have to question the love my mom holds for me and I will always be grateful to this great job she has done as a great mom. Thank you mom. Thank you great moms in this world. Mom, I know being a mom is never a easy job but you have done it so well and as your children, I will always love you and appreciate all the things you have done for me and I will always try my best to be the kind of daughter you are proud of. My love for you is infinite. And my heart will always be with you even if I am not around you. I hope every day, you feel like it’s Mother’s Day. Whenever talking about moms, I will always become emotional. Anyways, this is all for today’s episode and hope you enjoy the songs and I will see you soon.
