1. /ei/ Normally letter 'a' is in the middle of open syllables ending with voiceless 'e', such as make/date
Here are the examples of words~
pain, gain, date
Now let's practice.

Sometimes we say
no pains, no gains
The date is over, 14th. Feb.
What's the date today? Today is fourteenth, February.
We should omit the first letter /t/
2. /ai/ The second one is /y/ why, sky, shy, open syllable.
The last one is 'y' pronounced the vowel /ai/
For example, why sky shy.
This is very important for you to understand the open syllable.
For another example,
Why are you late for school?
It's full of black clouds and raining in the sky.
Don't be shy, just do it.
The birds are flying in the sky.
