介绍:
I played a all hardware improv set (all analog except the Korg ES-1 sample/drum machine ) at Soundscape Sunday's at Dada Shanghai on Sunday April 26th, 2015. This is the first ~37 minutes of an 1 1/2 hour set. This is the first time I have played live like this for about a decade. It's a bit dirty disco industrial minimal Leipzig 1990's style. The first 10 minutes is a bit of soundcheck going in to the longer set as I was running late from a talk I gave several hours before at M21 art museum in the Pudong area of Shanghai. Around 38 minutes my 6 month old fully stoked MacBook Pro 15 inch stopped recording and fell from it's perch and fuxed the screen (the image for this recording is the screen)but I just kept playing as didn't really realize the laptop fell or was damaged like that. The set is a type of improv i've done in the past. I started with 5 previously programmed patterns (3 EA-1 patterns (2 part synth lines), and 2 drum sequences on the ES-1), used only preset sounds (ES-1), programmed the Groovesizers while playing, created new patterns as the set progressed and used effects, lfo, vco, wave forms and so on to grow from those 3 synth patterns and 2 drum sequences to an hour and a half set. This is a great way to learn your gear. All of this was keep in time with the vintage Roland SBX-10. Anyways, enjoy. Oh, the first baseline comes from a song named clockwork from my old goth band called dies irae ! us. Specifically, the live on 770 Radio K "Off The Record" version. This will be uploaded to my SoundCloud: https://www.soundcloud.com/soundspade. Gear used: Korg EA-1, Korg ES-1, Roland SBX-10, Mackie 1402 VLZ4, Groovesizer RED and MB.
