(张培基 译) 翻译家简介： 杨宪益（1915年1月12日至2009年11月23日），祖籍淮安盱眙（今属江苏省淮安市）鲍集镇梁集村，中国著名翻译家、外国文学研究专家、诗人。杨宪益曾与夫人戴乃迭合作翻译全本《红楼梦》、全本《儒林外史》等多部中国历史名著，在国外皆获得好评，产生了广泛影响。 张培基，对外经济贸易大学教授，系福建福州人，出生于1921年。中国当代著名翻译家。张先生1945年毕业于上海圣约翰大学英国文学系，同年任《上海自由西报》英文记者、 英文《中国评 论周报》特约撰稿者兼《中国年鉴》（英文）副总编。1946年赴日本东京远东国际军事法庭任英语翻译，随后留学美国，就读于美国印第安纳大学英国文学系研究院。1951年到北京外文出版 社从事编译工作，历四载。1955年起他便在中国人民解放军外国语学校（今洛阳解放军外国语学院）执教。1980年张先生转业到地方，开始在北京对外贸易学院（今对外经济贸易大学）任教，1991年退休。
