National day The independent countries have National Days. Different countries set up their national days in different ways. National day is the birthday of our great motherland. And the Chinese people all over the world celebrate the national day. October 1st is the national day of China. Oct. 1st , 1949 was the first year of the national day of China. At that time, people were very happy, because China has been free, the war has just stopped. We were the winner! Then every year of this day, people hold the national flag to celebrate this special day. At the capital of China--Beijing, lots of activities are held. Such as Parade at Tiananmen Square, other activities like flag-raising and firework displays are held to celebrate the National Day. In the morning, the flag-raising activity at Beijing’s Tiananmen Square will attract many people. National day is remembered every year by special flag-raising activity. People gathered at Tiananmen Square in early morning for this event. It is part of the national day celebrations for the birthday of the people’s republic of china. Everybody is happy and very excited. In the United States, National Day, also known as the  Independence Day ,is on the Fourth of July . It celebrates the country's declaration of independence from Great Britain. Many people usually celebrate this day with picnics, parades, and fireworks. In Canada, the national day is celebrated on July 1st. It is one of the most important holidays for people to celebrate the birth of the nation in 1867, when Canada gained its freedom. It is usually celebrated with gatherings, food and fun. People will wear a Canadian flag hat and red and white clothing.
