如果有人试图取得不可能达到的成绩，或试图取得只有在最不可能的情况下才能取得的成绩，我们认为他不是“雄心勃勃”，而是愚蠢。同时，成绩应是有意义的。成绩应是不同凡响的。成绩应是看得见的，而且在完全可能的情况下，应是可以用数字衡量的。
To aim are results that cannot be achieved-or can be achieved only under the most unlikely circumstances-is not being “ambitious.” It is being foolish. At the same time, results should be meaningful. They should make a difference. And they should be visible and, if at all possible,measurable.
