Italian Alberto Zaccheroni has personally confirmed he will join Beijing Guo'an as their new manager for next season.
Zaccheroni and his agent finalized the deal with the Chinese Super League club on New Year's Eve before making their way back to Italy.
The two sides have agreed to a two-year contract worth 10 million yuan with options for extension for another two years.
Zaccheroni and his coaching retinue will officially sign the contract with Guo'an next month. They will then meet and start training the team in Kunming.
Sixty-two-year-old Zaccheroni had managed teams in the Italian Serie A that include AC and Inter Milan, Juventus and Lazio. He won the league championship with AC Milan in the 1998/99 season.
He has been with the Japanese national squad for five years and won the Asian Cup title in 2011.
Zaccheroni is the latest addition in Guo'an's transformation during the off-season.
The team opted not to renew contracts with Darko Matic and Dejan Damjanovi? and prematurely terminated its contract with former manager Gregorio Manzano.
Guo'an has also just signed Uzbek defender Yegor Krimets on a three-year contract.
