Leonardo DiCaprio Wins Best Actor Oscar Leonardo DiCaprio finally bagged an Oscar today at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles after winning the best actor Academy Award for his performance in the survival epic "The Revenant." The actor's performance in the movie involved him plunging into icy waters and eating raw bison to survive in the wilderness after a bear attack. DiCaprio received a standing ovation as he picked up the award. On accepting the award, the actor made his speech graciously while highlighting an issue close to his heart -- global warming. "Climate change is real, it is the most urgent threat facing our species. And we need to work collectively to stop procrastinating on it. Thank you all for this amazing award tonight. Let us not take our planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted. Thank you so very much." This is the first victory for the 41-year-old Dicaprio at the awards show after having been nominated five times for acting Oscars, dating back to 1993's "What's Eating Gilbert Grape."
