红色小母鸡 The Little Red Hen
Once upon a time.......a cat and a dog and a mouse and a little red hen all
lived together in a cozy little house.
从前, 有一只猫，一只狗，一只老鼠和一只红色的小母鸡一起住在一个舒适的小房子
里。
The cat liked to sleep all day on the soft couch.
这只猫喜欢在柔软的沙发上睡觉.
The dog liked to nap all day on the sunny back porch.
狗喜欢整天在阳光明媚的后廊上打瞌睡。
And the mouse liked to snooze all day in the warm chair by the fireside.
老鼠喜欢整天在壁炉旁温暖的椅子上打盹。
So the little red hen had to do all the housework.
所以小红母鸡不得不做所有的家务。
She cooked the meals and washed the dishes and made the beds.
她做饭，洗盘子，整理床。
She swept the floor and washed the windows and mended the clothes.
她扫地，擦窗户，补衣服。
She raked the leaves and mowed the grass and hoed the garden.
她打扫落叶，割草，锄花园。
One day when she was hoeing the garden, she found some grains of wheat.
有一天，她在锄花园时，发现了一些小麦种子。
"Who will plant this wheat?" cried the little red hen.
“谁愿意种植这些小麦？”小红母鸡喊道。
"Not I." said the cat.
“我不愿意。”小猫回答。
"Not I." said the dog.
“我不愿意。”小狗回答。
"Not I." said the mouse.
“我不愿意。”小老鼠回答。
“Then I will," said the little red hen. And she did.
“那么，我愿意，”红色小母鸡说。然后她就开始做起来。
