[00:00.23]Talking In Bed
[00:01.40]by Philip Larkin
[00:03.08]Talking in bed ought to be easiest,
[00:07.66]Lying together there goes back so far,
[00:11.94]An emblem of two people being honest.
[00:16.06]Yet more and more time passes silently.
[00:21.77]Outside, the wind's incomplete unrest
[00:27.10]Builds and disperses clouds about the sky,
[00:30.56]And dark towns heap up on the horizon.
[00:34.74]None of this cares for us. Nothing shows why
[00:43.24]At this unique distance from isolation
[00:45.83]It becomes still more difficult to find
[00:49.29]Words at once true and kind,
[00:51.89]Or not untrue and not unkind.
