Thai rescue divers are on a mission to find dozens of missing people after a boat capsized in a storm of the resort island of Phuket. It was carrying 105 people when the crew got into trouble in five-meter-high waves. Most of the tourists on board were Chinese. China says it has sent officials to the area to see how they can help.
"After the incident happened, the Chinese consulate in Songkhla immediately activated its emergency response mechanism and quickly sent staff to the scene of the disaster. We urge the Thai side, the local government, the Coast Guard, navy and other departments to proceed with the search and rescue work."
