Joe was tall and muscular, and he didn’t seem to fit into an office type of career. They were an ordinary couple. While Lady Green engaged in some light housekeeping duties, Joe earned a living wage to support his family. However, his low stipend only allowed them to have a basic minimum standard of living. Trying to improve their lives, Lady Green borrowed some money from a relative and operated a jewel shop in the marketplace. She was able to make a small income to found its daily operations and keep her business going. Coco usually hung around Lady Green’s jewel shop. Sometimes she heard people talking about the message she had put inside a bottle and the unsolved mystery. Coco never thought she would survive that day. On some subliminal level, she still felt frightened as the awful experience was still fresh in her mind. Staring at a mirror, Coco never stopped thinking about her white paw… Lady Green was still quite new to the jewellery business. She wasn’t capable of telling the difference between a real jewel and a fake. They looked the same to her eye. At one time, without knowing it, Lady Green obtained a box of fake jewels from one of her primary suppliers. She sold some of them to her clients, who found out later that they were fakes. The consequent bad word of mouth caused great harm to her business’s credit and reputation, resulting in decreasing sales and falling revenue. Lady Green was then unable to balance her budget and keep up with debt payments. She couldn’t repay her relative, to whom she owed money. She also failed to find another financial sponsor who was willing to invest or offer a loan.
