Vol.5 My Sunset Watching Playlist

Hi, guys, I am Debbie, thank you for listening in to my podcast. In the last episode, I shared my stargazing playlist with you guys. And for this episode, I am going to share my sunset-watching playlist with you this time. There are three songs that are perfect for you to listen to when you are watching sunset. The first song that you are listening to now is named "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" by Gwyneth . I heard this song from the movie “Leap Year”. The film is about a successful real estate stager Anna who is frustrated that her cardiologist boyfriend Jeremy still has not proposed to her after four years. She decides to travel from Boston to Dublin, to propose to him on leap day February 29, while her boyfriend is there at a conference. According to Irish tradition, a man who is proposed to on leap day must accept the proposal. During the flight, a storm diverts the plane to Wales, where Anna hires a boat to take her to Cork. The severity of the storm, however, forces her to be put ashore at Dingle, where she makes her way to a tavern and tries to enlist the help of the surly Irish innkeeper, Declan to taxi her across the country to Dublin. At first he refuses, but after his tavern is threatened with foreclosure, he agrees to drive her for €500, and the two set out in his old beat-up car. Along the way, he makes fun of her fancy Louis Vuitton luggage, which he calls "Louie", and her belief in a leap year "tradition" of women proposing to men. And these two encounter a series of funny events together along the way to Dublin. In this movie, this song is played when Declan woke up from a nap on a bench and he thought Anna was gone. I can see from the screen that Declan was deeply disappointed when he thought Anna left him and went to Dublin by herself. Even if I cannot see his facial expression, I can clearly see him sign deeply and murmur a word sounded like “perfect” while he was shaking out his coat. The melody of this song rises, which is perfect for that moment. That’s the sign of him falling for her even without knowing it. And it is true that hearts are likely to be broken when you’re in love. The ending of the movie might be a little bit cheesy for most realists. Sometime later, Anna arrives back at Declan&`&s Tavern at Dingle, where he is successfully running his business. She reveals that she broke off her engagement and tells him that all she needs is right here. When she proposes that they get together, here is what Anna says: When my 60 seconds came around, I realized I had everything I ever wanted, but nothing I really needed. And I think/ what I need is here. And I came all this way to see if maybe you might think so, too. And if you do...Well，I don&`&t really have any plans pass that, which is new for me. So, Declan O’Callaghan, and I should probably learn your middle name. Here is my proposal，I propose we not make plans. I propose we give this thing a chance，and let it work out how it works out. So what do you say? Do you wanna not make plans with me? Declan leaves the room. Thinking she&`&s been rejected, Anna rushes outside and makes her way to the edge of a nearby cliff overlooking the sea. Declan follows and asks, "Mrs. O&`&Brady-Callaghan, where the hell are you going?" He then gets down on one knee and proposes to Anna, offering her his mother&`&s ring. Anna accepts, and the two kiss and embrace each other. That’s the end of the movie. Honestly, I don’t know if they are going to be happily married after but I do know there is a beautiful wedding vow that’s from this movie that I want to share here. Along their way to Dublin, Anna and Declan attend a wedding. And what the bride says to her husband is so beautiful and touching. "I want to say, may you never steal, lie or cheat. But if you must steal, then steal away my sorrows. And if you must lie, lie with me all the nights of my life. And if you must cheat, then please cheat death, because I couldn&`&t live a day without you." 我想说，希望你永远不偷、不说谎、不欺骗. 但是如果你一定要偷窃，请偷走我的伤悲 如果你定要撒谎，请在我的此生里每晚 都与我同眠 如果你一定要欺骗，请欺骗死亡 因为我不能一天没有你 The second song is called “Watermark” by “Sleeping at Last”. This song always makes me feel like I am sleeping like a baby surrounded by the ocean. Imagine you are on a beach with your bare feet in the sand. And you look up, and see the blazing orange sunset setting fire to the clouds on the horizon. Everything’s so peaceful and the only thing you can hear is the breeze from the sea. The lyrics of this song are so beautiful . I love the lyrics of this song so much because I think this song states exactly the kind of relationship that I ever wanted and what’s truly in love feels like. And Taylor is so good at using daily words to describe something deep. Love has become the timeless topic of her songs and that’s why she has spent her whole life trying to put it into words.
