然后前半句对话当中的give it a shot其实之前也有讲过，
就是give it a try的意思，尝试做某事
eg: I've never tried bowling before, but I thought I'd give it a shot.
我以前从来没有玩过保龄球呢，但是我想我可以试试看。
大家之前在玩游戏，看电视节目的时候，听说过K. O. 吗？
没错，K. O. 就是knock out的意思
1. 一开始经常是拳击比赛当中会听到，
to defeat (a boxing opponent) by a knockout 就是一拳击倒对方，打败对方
所以现在knock out 可以表示打败某人；to defeat sb.
eg: The Irish came so close to knocking England out of the European Championships.
爱尔兰队就差那么一点点就在欧洲锦标赛中击败英格兰队了。
2. 击昏；打晕；让某个人睡觉；
To knock someone out means to cause them to become unconscious or to go to sleep.
eg: He was arguing with his girlfriend and she hit him with a frying pan! Nearly knocked him out.
他跟他女朋友正在吵架，结果她抡了一个平底锅打他，差点把他打晕过去了。
eg: The three drinks knocked him out.
三杯酒下肚，他喝高了睡着了。
那么什么叫做knock oneself out呢？
通常来说啊，跟反身代词连用了以后，常见的就俩意思：
1. to spend a lot of one's energy or try very hard (doing something)
某个人耗费很多精力，很努力去做某事；
eg: I'd like to get these reports done before the weekend, but I'm not going to knock myself out.
我也想在周末之前把这些报告都搞定，但是我才不会把自己累晕呢！
2. one can feel free (to do something); go ahead;
尽管做某事；请随意/请自便；
eg: If you want to go through all the files one by one, knock yourself out.
如果你想一件件翻阅那些文件，随便你/请自便。
eg: We don't get overtime, so there's no reason to stay, but if Joe wants to he can knock himself out.
老板又没给加班费，没什么理由留下来了，但是如果Joe想加班，就随便他吧。
