Today I'm going to talk about some tips on how to sound more confident when you're speaking and I think this applies to every language not just English。 I'm pretty sure in Chinese there are similar like tips as well but I'm here to talk about like specifically for English some of the mistakes that I make frequently because this is something that I also have to work on and also just some common mistakes in general。 So and this is when you're public speaking so not necessarily when're writing but just when you're speaking how do you sound more confident and more professional so the first thing is to try to stutter less so I know this one is kind of a hard one To Be actively trying to do so it's hard to just make yourself sort less and I think this is one thing that I also struggle with like for example when you're talking if you're frequently going like or like that's called stuttering and I know it's something that I frequently do and I'm trying to just stop doing that because it's makes you sound unprofessional but this is one thing that you want to avoid doing when you're talking because it often makes you sound like you don't know what you're doing。 So that's the first tip which is to stutter less and it's really hard to do I guess just practice speaking more and when you want to stutter just take a pause and think about what you want to say next because often when you're going like or you're sort of thinking about what you what you have to say next and instead of going like um you can just go for a pause and that actually makes you sound more confident。 And the second tip is to avoid being to verbals so being verbals is。 Saying too many words when you can express what you're saying in a shorter amount of words so when you're speaking it's easy at least for me to just fit in a lot of words that are necessary or don't actually mean anything so an example of being two verbbos。 Is like this so basically what I'm trying to say is blah blah blah and so you can notice in just in the sentence I just said there'is a lot of things that。 Could have been eliminated for example what I'm trying to say is or basically or like or so words like these I actually use these words a lot when I'm recording and just a normal conversation and I guess this is also something I have to work on but as you become more fluent in English you might find yourself doing something like this when you're trying to think of what you say next and you're maybe unaware of this but it is something that。 A lot of people this is something that a lot of people do and it's DeFinitely not correct some other words that are also quite verbbot that I often sort of incertain when I'm trying to speak is words like basically or technical or actually or stuff like that sometimes people just put them inside the sentences they're seeing when they actually don't really mean anything so these are also words that you want to avoid。
