Pete the cat was walking down the street in his brand-new shoes. Pete loved his white shoes so much, he sang this song:

Today we are learning two new words: walking and song.

Let’s practice saying them first: Walking
Good! Now let’s say a sentence that has the word walking in it. Repeat after me:
Pete the cat was walking down the street.
Walking means to move by lifting one foot and setting down each foot in turn. When you walk, you usually move fairly slowly. Let’s pretend we are walking, like Pete the cat. Pick up one foot, then set it down. Now pick up the other foot. Good job! We are walking like Pete the cat!
Now let’s learn the word song. Repeat after me: Song
Let’s practice saying a sentence with the word song: Pete sang this song.
