Father’s day
Father’s day is a day that we thank our fathers for everything they have done for us. The idea of a “father’s day” came from Sonora Dodd .
She wanted a special day to remember her father. Her mom died when she was six years old and her father took care of her and other five children. When Sonora grew up , she understood the hardships her father had these years. Sonora's father was born in June, so she chose to hold the first Father's Day celebration on the 19th of June, 1910. President in 1924 supported the idea of a national Father's Day. In early times, wearing red rose was a traditional way of celebrating Father's Day, because it was her father’s favorite flowers.
Father's Day is celebrated in different days all over the world.
In the United Kingdom, Father's Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June and is not a public holiday.
In New Zealand, Father's Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of September and is not a public holiday.
In Canada, Father's Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June and is not a public holiday.
In Australia, Father's Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of September and is not a public holiday.
Now ,on that day, children give presents to fathers. Mother cooks delicious food for children’s father to make them feel special. If children don’t live with their father, they should give a call to father or send a gift to him. Fathers are not good at expressing their love to their children , but we should care about them . Tell your father you love him and don’t forget to give him a hug and a kiss .
