I studied at (Beijing Normal University) for 4 years, and I majored in (Computer Science). First of all, I realized that I was very interested in software engineering, and I am going to do my best to find a good job in this field. I understood that I would like to find a job in a big company in order to lead some projects and have responsibilities. I met many excellent teachers who advised me. They encouraged and supported me a lot. In addition, it was a brand new experience for me because it was the first time that I left my hometown and my parents. At first, I did not know anybody, and I had to deal with different situations on my own. I forced myself to become more out-going, and I made some new friends. I became very close to my classmates, and we established a strong bond (= relationship). On top of this, I had to manage my time by myself, and make decisions without consulting my parents all the time. I became more responsible and mature. I became conscious that I had to study hard for myself, and not only to make my parents happy. I became more motivated and determined to succeed. I guess I could say I really grew up. Finally, I made the decision to continue my studies in America. I could have looked for a job in China, but I thought it would be more beneficial to my career to get a Master's degree first, in order to find a better position in the near future. It took me a long time to make this decision because it involves a lot of money, and going overseas is a long process, as well as a huge challenge. Going to university in Beijing was the first step towards my future. I learned a lot, but I found out there was still a long way to go.
