Japan's queen of pop, Namie Amuro has bid farewell to the music industry after the singer recently held her final concert. Amuro gave thousands of her fans one last memory in her 30-minute set at the Okinawa Convention Center on Saturday, September 15. 2. Amuro, now 40, is one of the big-gest-selling artists in Japan's music history, selling about 38 million records during her career. At the age of 14. the singer began her career as a member of a girl group called the Super Monkeys. She became sopopular that the groups name waschanged to Namie Amuro with Super Monkey's. 3. Her influence reached the fashion industry too. She became a fashion icon with many female Asians copying her style of miniskirts, platform boots, highlighted hair and thin eyebrows. 4. Amuro managed to stay relevant when many others fizzled out.
