Hello, welcome to our program--Global Week. I&`&m Lily. Today I&`&d like to. introduce you a great American movie---The Truman Show.
I think most of you may have heared about this movie, for this movie can be a very classic American movie directed by Peter Weir. Did you ever hear about another movie--Dead Poets Society?It is also a world-famous movie directed by Peter Weir.
Ok, let&`&s come to the point.The leading character is Truman.He is an ordinary people living in a small town called Seahaven, which sounds like "Sea Heaven".That can be a little sarcastic I think.
Apart from some strange things, his is just like other ordinary, thirty-year-old man.To some extent, his life is too perfect, everybody he meets is so kind and always smiles like those smiles in the ads.
Gradually he finds that the world around him is totally fake.His parents, his wife, his job, even the people in the town are all actors.In fact, there are thousands of cameras around him.Everything is under broadcasting to the whole world.That can be very horrible for us.
Finally, He tried his best to leave that place he called "home" for thirty years.And after the storm, he gracefully says goodbye to his past , leaving that illusory world far behind him.When I saw his joyful smile on his face at the end of the movie, a saying just immersed in my mind :"Let the wind of freedom below."Yes, maybe just as the director of this show said, the outside world is as fake as what they have given to him, but I think the cruel reality is much better than that unreal "Perfect World".So if I&`&m Truman,I would like to say:"Open the door, although the reality is terrible, please let me feel it myself."In such a situation, choose to trust in himrself and try to leave his comfort zone also needs great courage , because he doesn&`&t know what is waiting for him in the future.Better or worse, he must take it on his own.That&`&s what we should learn from Truman.
In addition, If you pay a little attention to his name,you&`&ll find that Truman&`&s name sounds like "True Man", but there is a contrast between his name and his life.Although he is living in a fake world for thirty years, he is still a real man, who has the ability to fight for human rights whatever it takes.Although he has been deceited ,he still believes in other&`&s kindness, is still willing to give his best wishes to the world.That&`&s what human&`&s nature lies in, and that&`&s also the most touching thing in this movie.
