Interviewer: That was the 《blue flamingo》，looks like the last song on your debut album <Stone Cafe> .I see that you&`&re coming to us from Beijing, are you still based there?
刚才那首是你首张专辑里的最后一首歌对吧。你是从北京飞来的，现在常驻北京吗？
Leah Dou：Yeah, I&`&m running between beijing and HK.
是的，常在北京和香港之间往返。
Interviewer: Cool. Obviously your english is perfect.When you were just starting out, what made you decide to stick with writing and singing in English?
最开始写歌的时候，为什么坚持用英语写歌/唱歌呢？
Leah Dou：When I first started writing music, I was living in the state of… I was studying in Michigan. So it was only normal to be writing in English cause you know, I was in an English-speaking environment. All my thoughts were processed in English, so that just came naturally.
最开始写歌的时候，我当时住在密歇根州，在那里学习。所以用英语写歌是一件很正常的事，因为我在一个说英语的环境中。我所有的思想都是用英语来处理的，所以一切都很自然。
But then, when I went back to China, I figured that because you know the Chinese language, it has such an incredibly long history. Each character has, the meaning behind it is always really rich.
后来我回到了中国，我发现中文拥有非常悠久的历史。每个字背后的意思都非常丰富。
It&`&s hard to write when you want to be direct about something. Because in English language you can kind of be direct. Yeah, I just find it difficult to write in Mandarin. I will, someday. English is what I&`&m writing with for now.
当你想直接地进行表达时，用中文很难，英语却很直接。所以用中文写歌对我来说有点困难。未来我会的，不过现在我还是在用英文写。
Interviewer: That makes all the sense. But will you tell us a little about the next song you&`&re gonna do?

Leah Dou：This next song is called <Drive> and it&`&s also a song I wrote fair quickly when I was studying in Michigan. And it was my favorite song at that time.
