A new film "For A Few Bullets" is due to hit theatres in China in July.
Set against the Japanese invasion of the 1930s, this film is an action-comedy, with romantic elements.
In the film, the Silver-Bear-award winning actress Zhang Jingchu plays the role of a beautiful but aloof gunfighter.
"My character is a government official who has to ally with a con man to stop the Japanese military getting a national treasure which is the imperial seal. The whole story is a lot of fun because in the movie, I use two guns as well as a rifle. Plus it is a comedy with the script smartly written and with a lot of surprising twists. So it is a very interesting movie."
Zhang Jingchu says Director Pan Anzi designed the character specifically for her.
"Two or three years before he shot the movie, she talked to me about the project. He said he had an idea for this kind of movie and wanted to create the very special character for me. And when my agent passed me the script and I knew it was really created from the story he told me. And I'm really happy he can invite me."
Created as a sort of Chinese Western, much of it has been filmed in the Gobi desert
