Defending champion Novak Djokovic has been knocked out of this year's Monte Carlo Masters, going down world number-55 Jiri Vesely.
"For me it was just very few things that I could take out from today's match as a positive. I was playing really really bad but nothing taking away from my opponent's performance. He deserved to win when he was break up in the third set, he was playing bravely, he was coming in, drop shots, big serves and he was going for it and he deserved to have it."
His 3-set loss, his first of the season on clay, marks the first time that Djokovic has been defeated by a player ranked outside the top 55 since 2010.
It's also his first full-match loss since November.
Djokovic had to pull out from a match in February after suffering an eye infection.
Jiri Vesely will next take on France's Gael Monfils in the last 16.
Monfils come into this match after taking out Italian Paolo Lorenzi in straight sets.
