介绍:
16-Chapter 8:A White Paw 第八章:白色猫爪02 文章:(中文意思请听节目)        Captain Button had gotten a sore throat two months before. He had thought it was just  a typical flu attack. It wasn’t  until weeks later, when he started to vomit blood and suffer relentless pain in the upper  abdomen, he then realized it was his bowels that got infected. Now it was too late, even the drugs from emergency first-aid kits that the pirates kept in their medicine chest couldn’t cure the infection. His lungs weren’t functioning normally; his liver wasn’t working right either as he couldn’t digest his food; and his stomach was burning, feeling like thousands of chewing insects biting the inner organ. Captain Button knew he had a fatal disease and it was a death sentence. There was no way to avoid it.          In an urgent manner before his time would finally arrive, Captain Button needed to find a secret place to stow his sword until he would be reborn and retrieve it. The secluded place needed to be far away from the turtle island. The captain didn’t want the sword to fall into others’ hands since the sword was the only means to kill the cave monster, who was tasked to safeguard  his treasures. Captain Button finally decided to sail towards the eastern sea for his next voyage.        Hiding in a covert under the deck, Coco was fascinated observing the black Scroll as if she quickly became addicted to nicotine, or even worse, …. The Scroll displayed three words, “I will return”. A phantom skull showing varied faces arose from the Scroll, trying to teach Coco black magic with sinister intention. Being a pretty gifted cat, Coco was learning the gist of black magic quickly. Then the cat’s fur slowly turned into a solid black colour except for her left front paw. Coco became a black witch cat with a white paw.       16-雅思词汇:774--828(中文意思请见节目) 45 sore; 46 throat; 47 typical; 48 flu; 49 influenza; 50 vomit; 51 relentless; 52 upper; 53 abdomen; 54 bowel; 55 infect; 56 infectious; 57 emergency; 58 emerge; 59 aid; 60 kit; 61 cure; 62 lung; 63 function; 64 functional; 65 malfunction; 66 normal; 67 abnormal; 68 liver; 69 digest; 70 stomach; 71 chew; 72 insect; 73 organ; 74 fatal; 75 sentence; 76 urgent; 77 manner; 78 stow; 79 retrieve; 80 seclude; 81 seclusion; 82 means; 83 safeguard; 84 eastern; 85 voyage; 86 covert; 87 fascinate; 88 fascinating; 89 as if / though; 90 addict; 91 addictive; 92 nicotine; 93 …; 94 display; 95 phantom; 96 varied; 97 arise; 98 sinister; 99 gifted; 100 gist; 101 solid; 102 solidarity; 103 witch;
