10 Things You Need To Know About GOTS7 WE’VE NOW OFFICIALLY overlapped George R.R. Martin’s source material for Game Of Thrones – which means from now on, ANYTHING can happen. His sixth book in the series['sɪəriːz] won’t be on the stands any time soon, so until then we’ll just have to rely on everything we can learn from the show’s stars, behind-the-scenes set shots and the tireless sleuths[sluːθ] on the interwebs. We’ve gathered the evidence to present the top 10 things you need to know about season seven of Game Of Thrones. 1. There will be a new character you love to hate We all need a GOT character to hate – otherwise, who can we make all those amusing memes about? The title of the Biggest W***** In Westeros[WES-te-ros] is currently vacant with the death of Ramsay. So who will be the new Joffrey[JOFF-ree]? Or 2017’s Olly? Where’s the next Waif [weɪf]? Our money is going on Euron Greyjoy. He’s a super-villain in the books – and the current rumour is that he’s going to kill at least one Sand Snake. We figure his Ironborn are going to be a thorn in Daenerys’s[Duh-NAIR-iss] side. 2. Cersei[SER-see] is going to make a terrible queen An iron fist in a velvet glove? We get the feeling that Cersei is going to rule with an iron fist in an iron glove. In last season’s finale, his brother-lover Jaime didn’t look too happy seeing Cersei on the Iron Throne. Why do we get the feeling that there was more to Cersei’s prophecy than all her children dying? That, perhaps, her Kingslayer brother is destined to repeat the feat and become Queenslayer? 3. Someone big will die We hate to break it to you, but there is no guarantee that any of the show’s mainstays – Tyrion[TEER-ee-un], Jon, Cersei, Daenerys and more – won’t die. After wrapping up filming season seven, Sophie “Sansa” Turner declared: “We’ve got one more season … well, not all of us.” 4. There will be a battle even bigger than last season’s Battle Of The Bastards['bɑːstəd] Battle Of The Bastards was the most epic GOT episode ever, featuring 600 crew members, 500 extras, 70 horses and costing more than $10 million to make. Now Emilia Clarke has teased that season 7 will have a battle that tops even that. “Last year’s battle was ridiculous, but this season, there’s another battle that’s epic,” she teased. Will it involve Daenerys and her mighty armada? Another hot rumour involves a giant sea battle between Euron and the forces of Yara and Theon[THEE-on]. 5. Jon Snow and Dany will meet Yes, the most anticipated meeting in GOT history apart from King Joffrey meeting The Grim Reaper is set to take place in season seven. Blurry['blɜːri] photos from the set suggest Jon and Dany finally meet each other by the seaside. We know that Dany is in the market for a husband to rule Westeros with. And we all know by looking at your comments that you want her to marry Jon. Keep an eye out for a raven with your wedding invitation. 6. Fingers crossed for Cleganebowl [Cli-GAIN ] If we’re going to have a battle even mightier than the Battle Of The Bastards, why not give us a greater duel than The Mountain v The Red Viper? Why not give us brother versus brother? Why not give us The Mountain versus The Hound? Why not give us … Cleganebowl? Just listen to the crowd already cheering. 7. The Night’s King’s army will make it past the Wall We know the Night’s King has mad skills – he penetrated the magical barrier to kill the former Three-Eyed Raven, after all. We’re predicting that not only will his army make it further south this season, but he will find some way to get through the Wall. Fingers are already pointing towards bumbling Bran. He made Hodor “Hodor”[hoder]. Some think he also made the Mad King mad. Will Bran’s magical time-shifting shenanigans [ʃə'nænɪgən] 诡计 somehow lead to the Wall coming down? 8. Sam will get a library card We haven’t forgotten the old fan theory that says Game Of Thrones is just one giant tale told by a Maester【MAY-ster】 like Sam. We’re presuming that Sam is not hanging out in the library for its free WiFi. Will he discover a secret that will turn the tide in the battle against the White Walkers? 9. The Three Heads Of The Dragon will be unveiled The Three Heads supposedly being Dany, Jon and Tyrion.[TEER-ee-un] We’re all hanging out to see our three favourite characters on dragonback, mowing down White Walkers with dragonfire. Although they could save that treat for the final season. 10. And let’s not forget … Lady Olenna, Ellaria Sand and Varys [VAIR-iss] will bring the pain to Cersei. Arya [ARE-yuh] will head to King’s Landing to cross more names off of her list. Littlefinger will continue his seduction of Sansa.[SAHN-suh] Ser Jorah[JOR-uh] will keep looking for the cure for greyscale (good luck, Jorah!). Tyrion[TEER-ee-un] will drink. Gendry[GEN-dree] might return (according to more blurry shots). And Grey Worm will continue to work on his stand-up comedy act.
