国际消费者联盟组织是1960年由美国、英国、澳大利亚、比利时、荷兰5国的消费者组织发起成立的,当时总部设在荷兰的海牙，现已迁移至英国的伦敦.. 这是一个独立的、不以盈利为目的的、无政治倾向的世界消费者组织.其宗旨是在世界范围内协助各国消费者组织及政府做好保护消费者利益的工作,促进对产品比较方面的国际合作;收集、整理、交换各国有关消费者运动的情况;出版刊物,开展消费教育;组织各国有关保护消费者合法权益问题的研讨会;在国际机构中代表消费者说话，协助世界上不发达地区的消费者组织开展工作.该组织现有成员涉及到90多个国家和地区，共有215个消费者组织.每年到这一天，世界各地的消费者组织都要组织大规模的活动，集中宣传消费者的权利,显示消费者力量的强大.为了更好地开展消费者权益保护活动,1983年,国际消费者联盟组织决定将每年的3月15日作为“国际消费者权益日”. 每年到这--天,世界各地的消费者组织都要组织大规模的活动，集中宣传消费者的权利,显示消费者力量的强大.其中包括发布新闻公报、向公众介绍消费者组织的活动情况;告诉人们消费者组织为保卫消费者的合法权益都做了哪些工作;通过报刊、广播电台、电视节目进行宣传,组织有关消费者合法权益的演说,以提高消费者的认识. 中国315消费者协会于1987年9月被国际消费者联盟组织接受为正式成员.从这一年开始，每年的3月15日，中国消费者协会及其地方各级协会也都要联合各有关部门共同举办大规模的宣传活动，运用各种方式介绍消费知识和有关法律知识,宣传消费者的权利;唤醒、提高消费者的自我保护意识;促进全社会都来关心、支持消费者合法权益保护工作. 315消费者权益日英语介绍: Consumersinternationab in 1960 by the United States, Britain, Australia,Belgium,Holland,5 countriessponsoredy the consumer organizations at the Hague, headquartered in the Netherlands has movedto London.
