一、用法
1. 指单数名词，复数名词
this这个/that那个，指单数
these这些/those那些，指复数
2.距离远近。举例：
this book（这本书），书离说话人近。
that book（那本书），书离说话人远。
3. 时间远近。举例：
Life was hard those days. 那些日子生活很艰难。Life is better these days. 这些日子生活好多了。
4. that 前指，this 后指。举例：We shall meet at 3 o'clock. That's a good idea. 我们3点钟见面，好主意。（that指前一句话）Now hear this. You are the best in my heart. 听着，在我心中你是最棒的。（this 指后一句话）
二、特殊指示代词
1. such（如此，这样）
举例：Such is life. 这就是生活。
Such are the results.这就是结果。
2. so（如此，这样）用来代替整句。
举例：—— I don't like him. 我不喜欢他。—— why so? 为什么会这样？
（相当于Why don't you like him?）
