Luneng, Suning AFC Champions League preview
First taking a look at how Chinese teams are doing at the AFC Champions League.
Shandong Luneng defeated visiting Thai outfit Buriram United 3-0.
Luneng wasted a few one-on-ones in the first half.
Diego Tardelli Martins and Jucilei da Silva opened up the account.
What looked like a cross from Zhao Mingjian on the right went straight into the top left corner to seal it.
After this game Luneng are sharing the group lead with FC Seoul on six points.

Asia's most expensive team Jiangsu Suning are taking on South Korean champions Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors for their first home game this season.
Suning and their new record signings are still getting used to each other in a tight, tough schedule.
The South Koreans are no stranger to Chinese teams. They hammered Shandong Luneng 4-1 in the groups last season and eliminated Beijing Guo'an from the quarterfinals.
Both other Chinese teams in the tournament are scheduled to play tomorrow.
Guangzhou Evergrande are against FC Sydney and Shanghai SIPG are taking on Suwon Samsung Bluewings.

Elsewhere,
Premier League leaders Leicester will be playing without midfielder N'Golo Kante against West Bromwich.
Kante is ruled out for at least two games with a hamstring injury.
Leicester who barely stayed alive in the Premier League at the end of last season have accomplished the goal of avoiding relegation halfway into this season.
The Foxes's title credentials will be put to the test as they lead second-placed Tottenham by two points.
Manager Claudio Ranieri is still yet to be bothered by the title challenge.

The first game of the WCBA finals is underway between Beijing and regular season winners Xinjiang.
Xinjiang are undefeated in the play-offs.
Beijing knocked out Shanghai and defending champions Shanxi on their way to making the finals for the third straight year.
the first game is in Beijing and the next two in Xinjiang for the best-of-five series.
Over in the NBA,
Bottom team of the entire league Philadelphia are officially ruled out of the play-offs after a 116-108 defeat by Washington.
James Harden hit three of seven three-pointers to make his tally 732 at Houston. He is now Houston's top three-pointer scorer in franchise history.
It was not enough to rescue Houston from a 128-121 defeat by Milwaukee.
Cleveland are indebted to Tristan Thompson whose late scores and a block edged out Indiana 100-96.
Boston took out Utah 100-95.
Memphis upset Denver 103-96.
And it is the Clippers over the Nets 105-95.
New national records at Indoor Championships
At China's Athletic Indoor Championships in Nanjing,
Dong Bin won the men's triple jump with 17.41 meters to set a new national and Asian record. It is also the world's best so far this season.
Wei Yongli is the women's 200 meters heats winner. It is her second gold medal after she won the 60 meters yesterday and smashed the national record that had stood for 15 years.
Roof for Arthur Ashe Stadium at US Open
In above-court tennis news,
Visitors to this year's US Open will see a new retractable roof over the Arthur Ashe stadium.
Director of the US Tennis Association Gordon Smith says they will avoid an overly cautious approach and will only use the roof when absolutely have to.
""We want this to be an outdoor tournament so we will only close the roof when absolutely have to, when we do there will be occasions when we will have to introduce some air conditioning at some level to make sure there is not condensation, and we certainly don't want the conditions to be worse when the roofs closed than when it might be open, so we will use it for that purpose, but this is not meant to be an air conditioned space."
This is the third phase of a transformation of the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
A newly constructed 8-thousand seat grandstand will also be ready for this year's tournament when will begin in late August.
The old grandstand will be demolished after the US Open to make way for the new Louis Armstrong Stadium that is set to debut in 2018.
Khan, Alvarez promote WBC title bout in London
In boxing,
Amir Khan and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez are in London to promote their upcoming WBC world middleweight title bout.
Twenty-nine-year-old Khan boasts a 31-3 record with 19 knockouts.
Khan says Alvarez is the "next best thing" after his fights against Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fell through.
"It is going to be a massive fight, we're both massive names around the world, we're both global stars. Alvarez is big in America, I'm big in this part of the world so it's two parts of the world coming together. It's going to be a massive show."
Alvarez has had only one defeat in 48 fights so far. It came from a majority decision loss to Mayweather.
The Mexican admitted he had been training specifically for the Khan challenge and expected to go the distance.
Amir and Khan will lock horns in Las Vegas on May 7.
