What blessed night is tonight, paddling a boat in the middle of the river.
What good day is it today, to share the boat with the honourable prince.
I blush at the benevolence he lays over me,
for he does not scorn my amour for my unworthiness.
My heart and mind are an endless flurry,
how divine to have earned your esteem.
Just as the mountains birth trees and trees grow boughs,
so my heart sings for you and yet you do not know.
