这个or what像一个小尾巴一样，一般加在一句话的末尾，用来表达说话人的一种不确定性；
或者也可以用于强调说话人的观点、看法。
你可以理解成“是不是？对吧？”
It is added as a tag to the end of a sentence to emphasize one's uncertainty about something.
或者It is used to emphasize your opinion.
eg: Is he stupid or what?
他是不是傻啊？
eg: I don’t know if he’s a teacher or what.
我不知道他到底是不是一个老师啊。
eg: Are we going now or what?
咱们是现在走还是啥时候走啊？
eg: Do you want to go down to the mall now, or what?
你是打算现在去那家商场的对吧？
eg: I can't tell if you're just trying to mess with me or what, but this is not funny at all.
我判断不出来你是想耍我还是怎么着，但是我告诉你这一点都不好玩。
而对话中出现的be something to it也是我们需要学习的表达。
你可以把这个短语的意思理解成：
to have some degree of importance, truth, or value
“有某种程度的重要性、真实性或者价值”；
eg: You know, there might be something to all this "positive thinking" you keep going on about.
你一直说的这个“积极思考法”，可能还真有点作用。
eg: I think there may be something to his story anyway, I’ll question him further.
我觉得他的故事可能有点价值，我明天再问问他一些细节。
