Finally, she met her friend.
“Hello,” he said.
“Hello- hello!” she said.
They hugged, and then they kissed.
“Let’s go for a sail,” she said.
“In the puddle,” he said.
They jumped on a leaf and floated around, around and around.
Then they got out and sat for a while.
“Oh- oh!” she said. “Now I have to go home.”
She stepped up onto the branch.
“I’ll come visit you next,” he said.
She walked step by step across the branch.
“Goodbye,” he called out.
“Goodbye,” she called back.
She walked step by step across the twig.
She walked step by step over the stone.
She walked step by step across the leaf,
and step by step over the other stone,
and she got home just before dark.
